Job Description:
Responsible for providing first-line support and administering human resources policies and programs in generalist areas to ensure compliance with state & federal laws for the St. Louis facility. Employee Relations: provides front-line support and serves as a point of contact for both union & non-union employees and/or supervisors on HR related issues and for policy interpretation and application; conducts investigations, prepare formal responses, and recommends actions; determines when to escalate employee relations issues as appropriate. Recommends and oversees implementation of ViewPoints (employee survey) action plans. Recruiting: handles non-exempt and exempt recruiting for assigned client group utilizing Brassring system; makes efforts to improve candidate flow for underutilized recruiting areas per local AAP; coordinates staffing processes with Corporate Staffing; will utilize CAI process to ensure that we hire only the highest level talent into the organization; assesses and recommends candidates for hire; assesses and presents for approval competitive information and coordinates compensation packages in conjunction with the Sr. Compensation Analyst in Rochester. May be required to attend conferences, career fairs; work with diversity networks and universities to coordinate co-ops, internships, etc. Analyzes turnover data and suggests retention plans. Employee On-boarding: works with managers to prepare new employee on-boarding and assimilation plans; coordinates other orientation resources. Talent Development: regularly engages with employees and is able to assess performance and provide development feedback to management. Compensation: participates in salary planning and administration; monitors performance appraisals to ensure all employees receive feedback; participates in performance management and salary planning calibration sessions; processes all increases that occur outside of the salary planning process to ensure proper guidelines are followed; participates in performance improvement process (PIP), and participates in salary surveys. Policies & Procedures: Effectively communicates, interprets and applies HR policies and procedures; appropriately escalate policy questions/interpretation as necessary. Training: Conducts training as needed relative to Individual Development Planning, Viewpoints, SMDP, the staffing process, CSI interviewing, change management and other HR programs, develops and implements creative solutions to team building and organizational effectiveness. Other: Will be heavily involved with the implementation of new HR policies and projects as they arise. Develops HR process flows and work instructions. Interacts with OHN and assists in returning employees from Transitional Duty Program as well as evaluating ADA accommodations as needed. Monitors intermittent FML form employees within client group. Assists with HR metrics. Other duties as assigned. Value Stream: Participates as the HR representative in regular value stream meetings, white board meetings, Kaizen events and other projects; assists Value Stream manager develop and maintain training matrix for employees within value stream; coordinates & conducts Training Within Industry training; supports Lean & 5S initiatives.
Qualifications
BA/BA required. Graduate Business courses a plus. Minimum of 4yrs HR experience to include experience in the following: HR generalist, recruiting/staffing, program/project management, and policy/process/procedure development. Computer literate in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required. Strong presentation skills required. Excellent communication, both written and spoken. Must be familiar with PeopleSoft. Must possess ability to interact with all levels, work independently and ability to see projects through conclusion/implementation. Must have strong analytical skills. Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills. Must be extremely flexible and have the ability to manage multiple projects with a strong attention to detail. Must exhibit the highest level of professionalism in dealing with extremely sensitive and confidential company information. Must be willing to work flexible hours to meet customer demand. Experience in a manufacturing environment with union exposure preferred.
