Job Description:
To provide strategic leadership direction to the Vision Care Contact Lens Sales organization and develop selling strategies that will enable this organization to drive revenue and earnings for the Americas Region.
Job Duty: Sales Leadership
- Provides analysis, insight and direction on company priorities and quarterly goals to attain revenue targets.
- Ensures sales forecast and operational budgets are achieved.
- Develops strategies and tactics in collaboration with product teams to provide optimal financial return
- Participates in quarterly POA meetings, pre and post product launch meetings if applicable, National Sales Meetings, Regional Business Director meetings. Provides leadership in development of POA strategies.
Job Duty: Staff Development
- Creates a high performing organization through facilitation of performance management process, coaching and mentoring.
- Recruits qualified talent and assists in development of high potential employees.
Job Duty: Customer Focus
- Builds a network of physicians and industry contacts to improve sales leads and successes.
- Attends major meetings (AAO, AOA, etc.) to ensure sales goals are being met and customer experience is maximized.
- Maintains current knowledge of competitive trends.
- Co-travels with Regional Business Directors and Territory Managers to remain knowledgeable on customer needs.
Participates in cross-functional teams to provide ideas and insights on market trends and data analysis. Proactively works with Sales training team, ensuring all adequate training programs are coordinated to deliver annual marketing plan strategies.
Qualifications
BA/BS in Business or Marketing required - MBA strongly preferred. Ten years of medical device and/or pharmaceutical sales experience required. Prior marketing experience a plus. Knowledge of Ophthalmology preferred. Proven ability to plan, forecast, and manage financial information required. At least 5 years of management experience with demonstrated abilities for problem solving, creativity, working as a key member of a management team, and motivating/guiding employees to meet division objectives. Travel would consist of working with sales employees, attending business meetings, industry meetings or working with key suppliers. : PC skills required (Microsoft tools). Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business trade journals, professional journals, and financial reports. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures. Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions from Sr. Management, customers, and sales representatives.
