Job Description:
Bausch & Lomb seeks a creative, technologically savvy, service-oriented information scientist to ensure that the library's information technology supports its mission to provide tools for research and development. This position is part of the library team with responsibility for managing electronic resources, including an integrated library system, link resolvers, electronic journals, desktop databases, technical support, training and web site management. The information scientist will: . Provide leadership in investigating and implementing new information technologies and services . Develop and implement an internal technical report library . Manage electronic library including maintaining link resolver . Catalog electronic and print resources . Supervise one full-time, senior information scientist Will work with the procurement organization to negotiate contracts with vendors. Must be able to generate relevant requirements and metrics. Knowledge of and good working relationships with key vendors such as Thomson, Dialog, ProQuest and CAS is desirable.

Qualifications
A bachelor degree required, Master's Degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA accredited program or equivalent preferred. Experience in a corporate or Scientific/R&D library. Experience with management of integrated library systems, electronic resources, website layout/delivery preferred. Management experience is preferred. Familiarity with patron authentication/user security access is desirable.
